A local eyewear label, Bridges Eyewear, has officially launched a collection inspired by the Pantone 2020 Color of the Year. After living coral in 2019, classic blue is the choice of companies from the United States that have often been used as a guideline for global trends.
Written on the official page, classic blue is the choice because this color emphasizes coolness, calmness, while presenting a timeless feel. Her palette inspiration was later translated by Bridges in her everyday eyewear collection entitled “Tora and Rory”.
Tora itself is a box-shaped eyeglass frame that looks bold, but still looks classic. “Usually this type of glasses is chosen by people whose faces are oval and round,” said Leonardus Rahadimas, Marketing and Business Partnership Bridges Eyewear in Central Jakarta, February 26, 2020. Meanwhile, Rory appeared with a slightly oval design. This series of glasses is said to be very suitable for those who have a square face shape with a firm jaw.
“We want to give fresh ideas to consumers about the perspective of choosing glasses. Not only are black or brown frames that are still favorites, blue is also interesting to try. Moreover, classic blue can still really be worn everyday,” said Leo.
Pantone itself reflects an invitation to see everything in a broad and different perspective through the classic blue color.
However, this eyewear brand, which already has 25 outlets in Jakarta, Depok, Bekasi, Tangerang, Bandung, Surabaya, and Makassar, still prioritizes sizes that are suitable for various shapes, as well as face sizes.
“Regarding material, this collection also uses Bridges, acetate standards, whose quality has been proven. This material also makes glasses very light,” he said.
Available at outlets since February 20, 2020, the “Tora and Rory” collection costs Rp. 600 thousand. “Add a minus lens around Rp. 2.4 million,” said Leo.
Besides, the eyeglass frame of this collection can also be a pair of sunglasses. Lens color choices, including black, brown, and even green.
With collection after collection, Bridges wants to emphasize that they are walking towards a sustainable concept. “It starts now from packaging. We don’t use plastic at all,” said Leo.
In the future, his party does not rule out the possibility of using environmentally friendly materials for eyewear products, such as wood, even bamboo.
